Dr. cliff's technical support

Ours is a complicated world, indeed, friends.  Gone are the days when 'tech support' meant giving the plow-horse a laxative, or periodically oiling some widget in your typewriter.  Today's lifestyles demand more sophisticated instruments of leisure and commerce.  Repair of these devices can get tricky, but fear not! Dr. Cliff is here to help. Below are some guides for the repair of some common household items (with pictures, even!).  Enjoy, and remember: a person invented it, and a person made it, so a person should be able to fix it.
First, though, remember that proper tools in a proper workplace are essential to success.  For most of these repair guides, I've chosen to work on a finely-finished walnut dining-room table, using the tools pictured below.

toolkit

Essential toolkit includes:

  1. Claw Hammer
  2. 4-in-1 Screwdriver
  3. A straight fork (not one of your own)
  4. Aggressive Pliers
  5. Filet knife (never-needs-sharpening type)
Swiss Army Knife (a Hong Kong knockoff is OK)

Armed with the essentials, and maybe a cocktail, you're ready to get the help you need.  At this point I should mention that this is HUMOR, in case you can't figure it out. Click on the device below for tips on repair and service.
