Payphone location: Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco, California. Don't forget to hit reload in your browser to see the new number if you've been here before. Also, prank calls go straight to the trash. If you get a high-pitched whiney sound (after several rings, most likely), that's the internal modem. Your call has been terminated. Try again, or go outside and smell some flowers.

Fisherman's Wharf again? Yes. Lots of tourists, from lands far beyond ours. They can lend to us some much-needed "outsider" perspective on fried foods and barking sea lions.

Also, I'm looking for international phones. So if you have one that you've secreted in a mossy tree stump or the like, send it along w/photos. Ask woodland creatures to pose. "Work that tail ... WORK IT"

Called at 11:17AM PST. Neither of the guys in the yellow coats bothered to pick up.

Perhaps a launch/land schedule of Vessel "Golden Bear" would make for some good calls?

I am smacking my forehead, this is something that should have been obvious. Blue & Gold no longer goes to Alcatraz Island, but I think they still dock in the same place (Pier 39) for bay cruises. It probably takes 15 minutes to load/unload, since they also take photos of everyone -- so maybe subtract 20 minutes from each posted time to achieve optimum pickupability.

Weekdays (depart Pier 39): 10:45am, 12:00pm, 1:15pm, 2:30pm, 4:00pm.
