I was speaking to a co-worker of mine favorably about another co-worker
in a different department. He looked at me and spoke the line, deadpan.
It may not seem like much, but it was all in the delivery, and it also helped
that he wasn’t one of those jokey guys constantly goofing around –
he knew exactly when and where to bring it home for maximum comic impact.
Starve ’em, and even gruel will taste like chocolate cake. Delicious
gruel-flavored chocolate gruelcake.
