Show me a good race!
[Virtua Racing videogame (August 1992)]
On network-connected versions of Virtua Racing, an additional game monitor sits on top of the cockpits, showing various camera angles during the race; it also has a small picture of a computer-generated announcer inset in the lower-lefthand side of the screen. During the race, the announcer twitches spastically (think Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit” video), and oddly-familiar text appears above him: “Find me a number one position!” “Show me a good race!” “SPIN!”
