[Mr. Microphone]

Mr. Microphone was a Ronco product advertised relentlessly during the 70’s and 80’s. In conjunction with an ordinary radio, this low-cost PA system allowed you to annoy your immediate neighbors with inane pre-teen banter. Used to point out potential horizontal friends to others. Also seen on The Simpsons, Ellen, and SCTV (“Mr. Boom Microphone”).

While accompanying a like-minded group of nerdy youths on a road trip, I spoke this aloud to indicate (what appeared to be) a woman on the side of the road. When closer detail revealed it to be a man, this was used as a catcall for years later at my expense.
