[Dial Media television commercials]

In the mid-70’s, Dial Media began a relentless series of television commercials for products nobody really needed. The Ginsu knife, the Miracle Slicer, and other low-cost appliances were shown with an array of other “bonus” merchandise, each bracketed by the announcer’s shotgun plea (“But wait, there’s more!”) and repeated query (“Now how much would you pay?”). Used when describing fabulously-impossible deals. Refer to Steinski & Mass Media’s “After This Word” recording for a complete artistic impression.
