I'm contacting other people named Cliff Davis, to find out.
| When I was a kid, I didn't run into many other Cliffs, or many other Davises. Notable exceptions include my family, especially my father, also named Cliff Davis. I figured there must only be two Cliff Davises, me and my dad. Later in life, I started getting phone calls from collection agencies every time I moved and got a new phone number. So I realized there was at least one more Cliff Davis, and this guy owed everybody money! I wonder how your name influences your life. Names (especially in Western culture) often carry stereotypical connotations. You know, you expect a Cletus to be a certain type of person, different from a Nigel or a Gunther. People are judged by their names, and this judgement colors the way we all interact. So what does it mean to be a Cliff Davis? I searched several online email directories for all the Cliff Davises I could find. I sent each one a brief email introducing myself, and asked for a reply. The results are tabulated below- |
